MV Do It Now: At the Helm

A short video describing everything at Do It Now‘s lower helm station.

As I build up my library of videos related to my Great Loop trip, I thought I’d create one that shows and tells viewers about what’s in front of me when I sit at Do It Now‘s main helm station inside the boat’s cabin. (In the future, I’ll try to do one for the upper helm station.)

In this video, I’m under way with the autopilot doing the driving while I do my show and tell. Here you go:

And if you do go to my YouTube page, you’ll find other Do It Now videos.

Thank you for allowing me to join you on your trip via this blog!

Could you describe the thrusters on the Ranger and the level of control they provide?

Another great question. My Ranger Tug has Bow and Stern thrusters. The Bow thruster offers quite a bit of control and really does a good job of pushing the bow left or right. The stern thruster is a bit wimpier. I can use them separately or together. I can also use them in opposite directions to basically pivot the boat when it’s at a standstill. They are excellent tools, especially when docking the boat in tight spaces.
