Great Loop Blog Status Report

Yes, I know I seem to have dropped the ball, but I really do hope to pick it up soon.

When I last blogged, it was about Clearwater, FL in January. It’s now near the end of June. What the heck is going on?

The short answer: life.

I let myself fall behind on the blog for a variety of reasons — i.e., lame excuses — before parking on the hard it in Chester, MD for the summer and coming home to work. I’d hoped to start catching up while I’m doing my summer stuff, but that summer stuff is keeping me very busy. So now I’m very far behind in both travel days and calendar days.

To make matters a bit more difficult, I had a problem with my main desktop computer that led me to believe that I might have lost a few month’s worth of photos. I’m pretty sure I have those photos, but I have to find them before I start writing again. You see, my notes aren’t enough to jog my memory about things that happened on specific days five months ago. I need the photos and videos I shot every day to remind me — and to include in the blog posts. So now I have to get my photo library back in order before I can get back to writing.

It’s a huge mess and it’s my own doing. I hope to dig out soon.

In the meantime, if you haven’t read about my trip with Capt Paul in 2021, please do. Here’s an index of those posts. I actually did complete blog posts for all five weeks of that trip, despite a computer failure along the way. I’ve been re-reading them as my friends in Pony head up the Hudson River, and it’s making me more eager than ever to get back to Do It Now. You can find an index of all posts here: Index to Great Loop 2021 Posts.

Thanks for the update! We (or at least I) do miss hearing these tales, and I’m sure I’m not the only one waiting with baited breath to hear the true comedy/truth about the fifth battery (amongst many other adventures of MV Do It Now).
